On *03 September 2026*, Army Goodwill School Chandigam organised a thought-provoking debate on the theme *“Empowered Minds in Drug-Free Lolab”* to spread awareness about the growing menace of drug abuse and to encourage collective action towards building a healthy and responsible society.
The debate was unique in bringing together *students, teachers, parents, and alumni* on a common platform. Participants expressed their views, shared experiences, and suggested practical solutions for making Lolab Valley free from drugs. The programme highlighted the vital role of education, family values, community support, and youth empowerment in preventing drug addiction.
The event was graced by *Major Abhishek Arya, Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Army Goodwill School Chandigam*, as the *Chief Guest*. Addressing the gathering, Major Arya appreciated the participants for their confidence and awareness, and stressed that empowered and educated youth are the strongest force in defeating the drug menace. He encouraged students to become role models and ambassadors of a drug-free Lolab.
*Mrs. Zahida Maqbool, Principal, Army Goodwill School Chandigam*, welcomed the gathering and reaffirmed the school's commitment to holistic education and character building. She emphasized that schools, parents, teachers, alumni, and society must work together to safeguard young minds from the dangers of drug abuse.
