1. Education has always played a pivotal role in socio-economic and intellectual development of nations all over the world. The nations which nurtured & patronized education harvested fruits of all aspects and achievement. On the contrary, those who ignored education got stuck in the abyss of poverty, illiteracy and intellectual infertility. Education in Kashmir has always suffered due to the emergence of ugly events and circumstances during the course of its history. Particularly, during the termite of 90’s, it was education sector that bore the burent and suffered colossal damage. It was the first and immediate causality of the events that unfolded thereafter. This sector took many years to improve and is still improving. Today, when it was showing glimpses of improvement and revival, it ferocious storm of turmoil.

2. Since July, schools here in Kashmir are virtually defunct and dormant baring some schools which took the lead to show this part of world, how we can revive education system in difficult times. Army Goodwill School Chandigam is among the lot. Army Goodwill School made an attempt to reach out the students and bring them in the classrooms. The staff of this institution deserves a special mention, who despite facing hardships succeeded in their mission and brought out the students back to the school. They went door to door convince the guardians of the students to send their kids to school. Once this phase was over, students were given special lessons on the importance of education in their classrooms. The role of Army is worth praising a hundred times. They provided security and a sense of calmness in the minds of students and the staff as well. This is due to combined efforts that presently more than 85% of students are attending the school.

28RR, Gujjarpatti org medical check up camp at AGS Chandigam with the aim to provide much needed medical checkup for the students of AGS Chandigam. Over 400 students were benefitted today.
